Exploring NorthEast, in 4wd OFF ROAD Tour,
followed by a seaside stay on a paradise beach.
Two weeks travel into North East of Brazil, in order to live to the rhythm of authentic Brazil. You will travel in a 4WD vehicle for a private tour, off the beaten tracks, with your driver and guide, and discover most secret places of Brazilian Northeast, called « Rio Grande do Norte ». Then you’ll reach a beach paradise to complete your journey by a few days of relaxation.
Detailed description of the trip
Day 1 : Landing in Natal, Brazil. Airport welcome and transfer to your residence RECANTO, a high standing resort, based on the Atlantic coast, at the edge of a wild sandy beach, about 60 km from Natal (and 45 minutes from the international airport). Welcome cocktail and overnight.
Day 2 : After breakfast, we are already about to travel for kilometers OFF ROAD, over several long white sanded wild beaches, fringed with coconut palms. On the way we’ll probably meet donkeys or wild horses, as well as fishermen on JAGANDAS (traditional fishing boat, in primitive build) on board of which these brave sailors confront the ocean. If we have fishers, we take this opportunity to help them bring their net. A rare moment of sharing with indigenous.
Along these beaches we discover some exceptional sites and small traditional fishing villages: CABO SAO ROQUE, MARACAJAU, PITITINGA, BARRA DO PUNAU, PRAIA DE ZUMBI, RIO DO FOGO.

Stop on the beautiful PEROBAS beach, where you can indulge in relaxing or join a diving snorkeling activity (optional and depending on the tide) including a boat trip on the reef, forming large natural pools in shallow waters and rich marine life. Lunch in a typical restaurant or on the beach, then driving 4WD on beaches and tracks (depending on the tide). Dinner and overnight at the RECANTO residence.
Day 3 :After breakfast, start for TOUROS village. Visits a typical market (only on Tuesdays). Here you’ll discover such amazing exotic fruits and be totally immersed in the rural life of traditional Northeast. A market full of colors and local customs that are sure to surprise you.
We then go to km « 0 » on the famous BR101 that runs along the entire oceanic Brazilian coast, from north to south, on over 4500 km. We stop in front the Calcanhar’s lighthouse, which with its 62 meters high, is the second largest lighthouse in Latin America and the greater in Brazil. Compulsory photo stop at this tip of world. We are indeed in the extreme north east of the South American continent and will now travel west, along the beaches.

We continue the trip to SÃO MIGUEL DO GOSTOSO, small seaside resort renowned worldwide by kite surfing lovers. Lunch in São Miguel do Gostoso or Caicara DO NORTE. Continuing by beaches TORINHOS, PRAIA DO MARCO, SAO BENTO DO NORTE. Depending on the tide, dinner and overnight at the POUSADA Do FAROL in São Bento do Norte or up to GALINHOS or GALOS. Dinner and overnight in GALOS.
You will be accommodated in POUSADA PEIXE GALO, a charming typical Brazilian guest house with air conditioned rooms surrounding a beautiful pool. The small village of Galos is situated on a narrow strip of sand between sea and river, a true haven of peace for Robinsons. No cars and only sand streets there, a place where time seems to stand still.

Without making too hasty comparison, know that here you will find all the authenticity of what JERICOACOARA was before, as this famous place must unfortunately deal with huge tourist influx now.
Day 4 : After breakfast, we drive on 4WD through sand dunes, lagoons and salt dunes of Galinhos and Galos, you evolve in wild landscapes, breathtaking.
Independent lunch* and lazing on the beach or by the pool (or optional excursion by boat or buggy). Depending on the tide, the day’s program can be reversed. Dinner and overnight in Pousada Peixe Galos.

Day 5 : Breakfast, then departure for AREIA BRANCA. After the sand dunes and the salt trail, we reach the asphalt up PORTO DO MANGO via the Piranhas River’s Delta, a swampy area. Sometimes looks like Texas ! Because its subsoil is particularly rich in oil.
Lunch at PORTO DO MANGUE, a small fishing harbor in front of a Mangrove. Then back to the sand, that of wide sandy beaches and Alagamar desert’, where, contrasting with the white sandy beach, we’ll find some impressive pink dunes, called DUNAS DE ROSADO.
We drive you in the dunes and walking tour to enjoy the scenery and enjoy the beautiful show that nature offers us. This is the second largest dunes park of Brazil, after Lençois Maranhenses. We then return to the beach where we reach PONTA DO MEL and continue driving up AREIA BRANCA. Check into your hotel. Dinner and overnight. You will stay at ATLANTICA COSTA hotel, located on Upanema beach in Areia Branca.

Day 6 : After breakfast, starting by road to NATAL. Stop for lunch in a Churrasqueria, a typically Brazilian restaurant where delicious and varied grilled meats will be served at will to you. Arrive late afternoon in Natal, check in hotel ELEGANCE FLAT or similar, located on PONTA NEGRA beachside, the most beautiful beach in Natal.
Day 7 : Breakfast then departure from Natal Ponta Negra by the south coastal road. Stop at Cajueiro Pirangi, the biggest fruit tree in the world (cashew tree) for the visit. Continuation to Buzios, Barra de Tabatinga. Stop for the lunch at water’s edge (Lagoa de Arituba). After lunch, depending on the tide, continuation by road or small ferry to Tibau do Sul. Stop on the road, overlooking the cliffs between Tibau do Sul and Pipa : Baia dos Golfinhos, Praia do Madeiro. Overnight in Pipa.

Day 8 : After breakfast, starting from Pipa, stop at Chapadão, impressive cliffs, overlooking the Praia do Amor, then continuation offroad through the tracks along the sea, up to Barra do Cunhau. Crossed by a small ferry (« balsa ») to reach Baia Formosa, driving on beaches. Lunch and continuation by road to Barra de Camaratuba where we take a small ferry joining the native Indian villages Potiguaras. Visit a traditional village and crafts typical Potiguaras. Continuation to Baia de Traição, then road to João Pessoa. Installation in an hotel on Tambau beach (João Pessoa center’s beach) for the night.

Day 9 : Breakfast and visit the beautiful historic center of João Pessoa with its baroque churches and colonial era buildings, beautifully restored. Lunch along the way, we then continue further south to the beautiful beaches of Paraiba’s State. Praia do Amor (breakthrough stone), Praia de Jacumã, Tabatinga Praia, Praia do Coqueirinho, Praia de Tambaba. Overnight in an hotel or a pousada on the beach as desired.

Day 10 to 14 : Self seaside holidays in an hotel or pousada (nights and breakfasts included). We offer 2 types of accommodation depending on your choice : either a classic seaside holiday at the hotel on the beautiful Tabatinga beach, or a naturist stay in a pousada on the sand, on the gorgeous Tambaba beach.

Day 15 : Breakfast and spare time before transfer to Natal airport for your return flight.

Travel Information:
The tour program is designed to be achievable any time of year but it can be slightly modified according to the requirements (hours of tides, weather, flight schedules …), in addition to the vehicles can not ride on beaches when the tide is high and must comply with certain traffic restrictions (regulations, environmental protection).
